Important Notice Regarding JALT Submission System Migration - 4 March 2026

Over the past several months, JALT has undertaken a comprehensive data rollover and migration from our previous website/online submission system to the new platform (https://jalt.open-publishing.org/index.php/jalt/index).

During this process, we identified that a very small number of manuscripts submitted via the old system within the transition period may not have automatically appeared in the new system. Our technical team is currently reviewing all inconsistencies and manually uploading each affected submission to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Please rest assured that all submissions are securely archived in our backup files and recorded in our separate submission tracking document. No manuscripts have been lost.

If you receive automated notification emails indicating that your manuscript has been newly submitted in the system, or if you notice changes to contributor/author/editor details on the submission page, there is no cause for concern. These notifications are system-generated as part of the manual reconciliation process.

Additionally, some contributors may find that they are temporarily unable to log into the new system. This may occur if a user account was created during the migration period and was not carried over to the new platform. In such cases, contributors are advised to register a new account via the new website using the same username, password, and contact email address as previously used.

We kindly ask authors to refrain from contacting the Editorial Office or our team members regarding submission status updates or matters already addressed on the journal website. JALT operates on a voluntary basis and is currently managing a substantial volume of pending submissions with extremely limited staffing and resources. We are working diligently to process all manuscripts in due course.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, professionalism, and continued support.
